Waldorf Institute of Southern California

Imagine Becoming your Favorite Teacher

In response to the ongoing devastating fires in our region, WISC has decided to cancel its January classes so that we may focus on the more immediate needs of the Waldorf teachers in the area who have been affected by the fires.

We invite the Pasadena or Westside Waldorf School teachers to contact us with needs, in terms of teaching supplies, lesson plans and the like, and will help meet those needs. (financial support links below)

In addition, we invite the Pasadena and Westside teachers to join our online Waldorf Essentials workshop free of charge.

WISC is also co-sponsoring the Emergency Pedagogy without borders team USA, Los Angeles fires intervention, from February 8-13

What is WISC?

The Waldorf Institute of Southern California (WISC) is a teacher-training center dedicated to preparing educators in the holistic principles of Waldorf Education. Through hands-on workshops, experiential learning, and community support, WISC empowers future and current teachers to blend academics, art, and human development in the classroom. Recognized by AWSNA, WISC’s programs provide the foundational skills and credentials needed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and compassion in students.

What is Waldorf Education?

Waldorf Education is a holistic teaching approach developed by Rudolf Steiner, blending academics, art, and nature to support each child’s cognitive, emotional, and physical growth. Students learn through storytelling, hands-on projects, and a deep connection to the environment, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and empathy. By nurturing the whole child, Waldorf education aims to inspire a lifelong love of learning and cultivate compassionate, self-reliant individuals who can truly impact the world.
